Storm Guard started in 2009 when Marcus Reyes, a second-generation roofer, got tired of watching out-of-town crews roll into Tampa after every storm, collect deposits, and vanish before the permits closed. He put his cell number on the side of a used box truck and answered it — at 2 a.m., during Rays games, on Christmas.
Seventeen years later there are five trucks and fourteen people, and the rule hasn't changed: every crew is W-2, every foreman has ten-plus years on Tampa roofs, and nobody who works here gets paid to sell you anything. Estimators are roofers who climb; the person who quotes your roof is the person responsible for it staying dry.
We stayed deliberately small enough that Marcus still walks jobs every week — and deliberately focused enough that we've never installed a gutter, a paver, or a pool cage. Roofs. In storm country. That's the whole company.
